DCCI unveils Tax Guide 2023-24

All DCCI members will get this guide free of cost, while others can purchase it from the DCCI office

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) on Tuesday this year published one of its flagship publications “Tax Guide 2023-24.” 

Member (Taxes Appeal and Exemption) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Iqbal Hossain unveiled the Tax Guide at a function at the DCCI premises. 

During the occasion, DCCI President Ashraf Ahmed said that DCCI for more than two decades published tax guides regularly which covered up-to-date information on income tax, customs duty, supplementary duty and value-added tax (VAT) along with different schedules, SROs and orders which are helpful to the taxpayers to understand the taxation system of the country. 

He also informed that this year, the tax guide was published in line with the recent changes that came up in the new Income Tax Act 2023. 

He further stressed increasing the tax-GDP ratio in the country to attain the desired development goals. 

To meet the revenue target he suggested widening the tax net in the country, full automation of the taxation system, easing relevant rules and regulations and taking necessary reform measures. 

All DCCI members will get this guide free of cost, while others can purchase it from the DCCI office.   

Member of NBR Md Iqbal Hossain thanked DCCI for publishing tax guides regularly to help taxpayers and tax professionals. 

He also said that Income Tax is a complicated matter and for the sake of mass taxpayers of the country the new Income Tax Act 2023 has been formulated in Bangla to make it more understandable. 

He also sought cooperation from the business community and tax professionals requesting them to inform NBR if they face any difficulty while using this Act. 

He also reiterated that NBR is also working relentlessly to bring the taxation system under effective automation.     

DCCI Senior Vice-President Malik Talha Ismail Bari, Vice-President Md Junaed Ibna Ali and members of the Board of DCCI were also present during the unveiling ceremony.
