In October, the total number of active mobile internet connections in Bangladesh decreased by 360,000, reaching 119.4 million compared to 119.7 million in September, according to data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
Despite this decline, the number of broadband connections remained constant, maintaining a steady figure of 12.4 million from September to October, as reported by the BTRC.
Contrastingly, the BTRC data also revealed a positive trend in active mobile connections, indicating an increase of 540,000 in October compared to the previous month. The total number of active mobile connections in October reached 189.6 million, surpassing the September figure of 189.1 million.
Robi Axiata experienced growth in October, with its connection numbers increasing from 57.6 million in September to 57.9 million.
Similarly, Banglalink observed an uptick in active connections, rising from 42.8 million in September to 43 million in October.
On the other hand, Grameenphone recorded a decline in active mobile connections, decreasing from 82.2 million in September to 82.1 million.
Even the state-owned Teletalk saw a slight dip in growth, with active connections decreasing to 6.43 million in October compared to 6.44 million in September.
