IFIC Bank has achieved the milestone of 1000 sub-branches with the aim of building the country's largest banking network with state-of-the-art banking technology.
On November 26, IFIC Bank made history as the first bank in Bangladesh to establish its 1000th sub-branch by inaugurating a new sub-branch in the historic Mujibnagar, Meherpur, reads a press release.
Salman F Rahman, MP, chairman of IFIC Bank Limited and advisor to the Prime Minister for Private Sector Industry and Investment was present as the chief guest while Farhad Hossain, minister of State for Ministry of Public Administration was present as the special guest in the 1000 sub-branches milestone celebration ceremony organized at Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Auditorium.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Meherpur Dr Mohammad Munsur Alam Khan, Meherpur District Superintendent of Police Md RafiulAlam, General Secretary of Meherpur District Awami League and Chairman of Gangni Upazila M A Khalek, Managing Director (Acting) Syed Mansur Mustafa, Members of the Board of Directors and Deputy Managing Directors and Senior Officials of IFIC Bank, including local dignitaries and journalists were also present at the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, Salman F Rahman said that the IFIC Bank achieved the milestone of 1000 sub-branches by opening one in Mujibnagar, the land where the Provisional Government of Bangladesh was formed, and solemnly took the oath. This effort of the IFIC Bank will continue with the ultimate goal of ensuring inclusive banking.
In his speech as the special guest, State Minister Farhad Hossain praised the bank's efforts in inaugurating IFIC Bank's sub-branch in historic Mujibnagar and ensuring inclusive banking.
He also mentioned that this footstep of the IFIC Bank of Mujibnagar will play an important role in the future to advance the agriculture-based rural economy of Meherpur.
