Mobile Financial Service Trust Axiata Pay; popularly known as Tap has introduced a new service that allows its users to pay holding tax. From now on, Tap users can pay the holding taxes of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Recently an agreement has been signed between Dhaka North City Corporation and Trust Axiata Pay where DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam and the CEO of Tap signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, reads a press release.
This agreement will enable the dwellers of DNCC to pay holding tax of all sorts through Tap. Alongside, trade license fee (new, renewal and correction), birth certificate application fee, community center booking fee, and GIS map purchase fee can also be paid eventually.
In that agreement-signing event, Mayor Atiqul Islam stated: “Previously, the city dwellers had to undergo rigorous hassle. This initiative is taken to reduce their inconvenience. Moreover, cashless transaction will ensure transparency and accountability. Through this automation, people can now receive necessary services at home while the exploitative influence of the middlemen would shrink at the same time.”
Regarding the holding tax payment service, the CEO of Trust Axiata Pay or Tap Dewan Nazmul Hasan states: “We endeavour to facilitate the lifestyle of people from all walks of life. We are working relentlessly to offer the best service making the best use of technology which consequently unfolds this new service for DNCC inhabitants. We hope our users will benefit from this service.”
On July 28, 2021, the Chairman of Trust Axiata Digital Limited Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed inaugurated the commercial operation of Tap. The users can register for Tap services with National Identity Card (NID) and a selfie.
Moreover, the users can enjoy services of cash in, cash out, send money, utility bill payment, insurance bill, tuition fees, army recruitment fee, remittance collection, merchant payment, internet bill, television/DTH bill, Indian visa fee, NID fee, donation, mobile recharge for all operators.
Tap is a Mobile Financial Service which is jointly ventured with Trust Bank Limited, Bangladesh and Axiata Digital Services.
