The government has withdrawn the decision of rationing gas supply to all industries, effective from Friday.
The Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) issued a circular in this regard on Thursday.
Earlier on April 11, Petrobangla issued a circular asking factories to stop using gas for four hours from 5pm to 9pm every day till April 26. The decision was taken amid a crisis of gas during the holy month of Ramadan.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) protested against the decision and demanded the withdrawal of rationing gas to factories on April 12.
