Bank Asia declares 10% cash dividend for 2020

Shareholders have expressed their satisfaction with the overall performance of the bank

Bank Asia on Thursday declared a 10% cash dividend for the year 2020 at its 22nd annual general meeting (AGM). 

A Rouf Chowdhury, chairman of the bank, presided over the meeting, which was held virtually through a digital platform. 

At the meeting, the shareholders expressed their satisfaction with the overall performance of the bank and approved the accounts for the year 2020. 

The bank had communicated every detail of the virtual AGM with its shareholders earlier, Bank Asia said in a press release. 

Bank Asia Vice Chairman Mohd Safwan Choudhury, Chairman of the Board Executive Committee Rumee A Hossain, Chairman of the Board Audit Committee Dilwar H Choudhury, and Chairman of the Board Risk Management Committee MA Baqui Khalily, attended the AGM.

Directors Enam Chowdhury, Romana Rouf Chowdhury, Ashraful Haq Chowdhury, Major General (retd.) Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Md Abul Quasem, Tania Nusrat Zaman, President and Managing Director Md Arfan Ali, and Company Secretary SM Anisuzzman also attended the meeting. 

Other senior officials and a large number of shareholders were also present at the virtual AGM.
