Bank Asia PLC celebrated the 11th founding anniversary of agent banking on Saturday.
Chairman Romo Rouf Chowdhury along with members of Board of Directors and senior management team of the bank attended the anniversary program at the bank’s Corporate Office (Rangs Tower), Purana Paltan, Dhaka.
Two services, titled “Wet Market Collection” and “Data Analytics” were launched at the event followed by an award giving ceremony of the Ten Best Performing Agents.
Bank Asia is the pioneer of agent banking in Bangladesh and the service was rolled out on January 17, 2014.
Through this pioneering initiative, the bank has financially included more than seven million customers, 92% of whom are from rural segments and 64% are women.
