The seventh LEATHERTECH Bangladesh fair will begin in the capital on October 31, aiming to bring global technology at the doorsteps of the local industry to catalyze growth and modernization.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will inaugurate the three-day trade show at International Convention City Bashundhara organized by ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd.
In addition, the 3rd edition of Bangladesh Leather footwear & Leather goods International Sourcing Show-2019, organized by the Leather goods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), will also be held at the same venue.
The announcements came at a press conference at Best Western La Vinci Hotel in Dhaka on Thursday.
Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries would showcase finished leather products, machinery for tanning and manufacturing footwear and leather goods along with components like dyes and chemicals, accessories and allied products, said Nanda Gopal K. Director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd.
ASK Trade & Exhibitions managing director Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan said, “Our trade show will showcase the sustainable technology for the future. The show profile is comprehensive and the local industry can benefit from the presence of global leaders.”
He said with the continuous growth and support from the government, the sector was working towards an ambitious target of achieving $5 billion exports by 2021.
Exhibition will remain open from 11am to 7pm with free of entry facility.
LFMEAB president Saiful Islam and Executive Director Kazi Rowshan Ara Shumi were present in the press conference, among others.
