Chevron Bangladesh recently organized tree plantation drives at various locations in Sylhet.
Chevron’s Jalalabad and Moulavi Bazar Gas Plant Superintendents inaugurated the proceedings at events that were also attended by the Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, Ariful Haque Choudhury; Lackatoorah and Majdehee tea estate managers, and Chevron employees, said a press release.
The events were held in collaboration with the Bangladesh chapter of Chevron’s XYZ Network, an employee network.
The first such tree plantation drive of the year was held earlier in June to mark World Environment Day.
As part of Chevron’s ongoing efforts in environmental stewardship, it has been involved in tree plantation drives since 2005.
Chevron also supports a range of corporate social responsibility programs in education, health and economic development for the communities residing near its areas of operation.
