The leading global payments technology company, Visa, signs a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday in order to increase the adoption of digital payments in the country.
The signing places Visa as the e-CAB’s preferred partner in developing digital payments in e-Commerce sector.
Visa Group Country Manager for India and South Asia TR Ramachandran said Visa is committed to working with its clients, merchants, the government and partners like e-CAB to drive the digital payments adoption in Bangladesh.
“We are looking forward to bringing our expertise to this partnership in the hope that we can accelerate the shift to electronic payments ina secure, faster and more convenient way.”
Md Abdul Wahed Tomal, general secretary of e-CAB, termed the new alliance a big step towards growth and development of e-commerce sector in the country.
He said: “The partnership will help all players in the e-commerce ecosystem.”
Visa and e-CAB’s immediate focus will be sharing knowledge and making best practices for the development of digital commerce and supporting Digital Bangladesh initiatives.
