The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a lightning and thundershower alert for six districts, warning of sudden gusty winds and rain on Monday.
According to the bulletin, scattered parts of Bogra, Naogaon, Jamalpur, Comilla, Chittagong, and Chandpur districts are likely to experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, or rainfall by 1pm on Monday.
As part of the hazard safety measures, the Met Office has strongly advised residents in the affected areas to remain indoors and avoid going outside as soon as they hear thunder.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions, with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places across the country.
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the country.
A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Pabna, Chuadanga, and Kushtia, and it may abate in some places.
