The price of furnace oil used for electricity generation has been reduced for the month of August, officials said.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Thursday fixed the new price of furnace oil saying that the furnace oil will be sold at Tk 100.39 per litre.
According to the BERC, the new rate will come into effect from Thursday night.
Earlier, in July, the price of furnace oil had been reduced from Tk 113.54 per litre to Tk 109.10 per litre.
