Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has appointed four advisers, dismissing the previous six who were appointed during the polls-time government.
Among the six former advisers, only Foreign Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi and Security Affairs Adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique retained their offices yesterday.
HT Imam and Mashiur Rahman, who were advisers to the prime minister during the grand alliance government period, have been reappointed as advisers.
The four advisers who were dropped are Shafique Ahmed, Dilip Barua, Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu and Anwar Hossain Manju.
However, Manju has secured his position in the new cabinet as environment and forest minister.
The Cabinet Division has issued separate orders regarding the shuffling of PM’s advisers.
Three other advisers to the premier who were left out of the poll-time government –Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Alauddin Ahmed and Syed Modasser Ali – have neither been selected as advisers nor as cabinet members.
