Jatiya Party leader Nasim Osman, who has been elected uncontested in the 10th parliamentary elections from Narayanganj sadar, yesterday said Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy and Awami League activist Abu Sufian would be arrested soon.
Nasim also thanked the BNP-led 18-party alliance for not “killing people and damaging government properties” during hartal and blockade programmes.
While opening a new building of a school, the Jatiya Party leader claimed that Ivy and Sufian were hatching a “conspiracy” under the banner of Twaki Mancha against the nomination of Nasim and his brother Shamim Osman, but failed.
Making an obscene remarks regarding Ivy and Sufian, Nasim also said they would arrested soon for their “conspiracy.”
Selina Hayat Ivy and Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha Convener and Twaki’s father Rafiur Rabbi had been blaming the Osman family for the killing of Tanvir Muhammad Twaki, an A level student who was found dead beside a canal of Shitalakhya River in Narayanganj on March 8 last year, two days after he went missing.
Presided over by Abu Zaher, president of Narayanganj district unit Jatiya Party, the programme was addressed by among others Minara Naznin, UNO of Bandar upazila and Abdur Rashid, president of Bandar upazila Awami League.
