Some five people were injured when police conducted a baton charge on the 18-party alliance leaders and activists during a protest in the capital’s Gabtali area on Tuesday morning.
Police control room sources said the 18-party alliance leaders and activists were staging a demonstration on the Hijla road in Gabtali at around 10:45am when police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Later on the blockade supporters threw bricks and bats at an Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) forcing the police to take the action that left five people injured.
