The pro BNP lawyers have expressed their satisfaction over the Judge’s Court’s verdict that acquitted party’s Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case.
Masud Uddin, a pro-BNP lawyer, expressing his satisfaction over the verdict, said: “As it was a false case, the court has acquitted Tarique.
This is the first time when the devoted judiciary, under the ruling government, has taken a courageous decision,” he added.
They also came out in a procession, on the court premises, welcoming the verdict.
Earlier in the day Tarique Rahman was acquitted in a money laundering case.
The court however sentenced his friend Giasuddin Al Mamun to seven years imprisonment and fined him Tk400m in the same case.
Judge Md Motahar Hossain of Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3 pronounced the verdict.
