Ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections, Maulana Azizur Rahman, the Jamaat-nominated candidate and a central executive council member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led a motorcycle rally in the Jessore-1 (Sharsha) constituency with nearly six thousand motorcycles.
The rally began at 10am on Saturday from the Sharsha Upazila Stadium field under the leadership of Jamaat leader Maulana Azizur Rahman. The rally is set to cover 172 villages across 11 unions and one municipality of Sharsha Upazila before concluding at Baganchra Secondary School.
Regarding the rally, Maulana Azizur Rahman said: "If the people of Sharsha give us the opportunity, we will take steps to rebuild Sharsha in the future. We aim to be servants of the people, not rulers. In the future, we will be with you in all your good endeavours."
