BNP Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan said on Wednesday that the party's second struggle, following the fall of autocracy, is to secure fair and impartial elections.
He made the remarks as a special guest at a rally organized by the BNP’s three affiliated bodies—Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechhasebak Dal—at Naya Paltan in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. The event was held to establish the political rights of the youth.
Moyeen said that the BNP had long been waging a movement to reclaim the people's voting rights, and therefore, an election must be held without delay.
Moyeen Khan also said the BNP is cooperating with the government for the sake of restoring democracy and expressed the party's hope that the government would succeed.
He further said that after a fair election, the government is expected to transfer power peacefully in the third phase.
Leaders and activists from various districts, including Dhaka, Sylhet, Faridpur, and Mymensingh divisions took part in the rally.
