ASM Abdur Rab, the President of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), has mentioned that in order to eradicate fascism, the existing repressive and authoritarian governance system must be fundamentally changed.
He made these statements during his address at the permanent committee meeting of JSD on Friday.
He argued that a revolutionary change could only be achieved through a governance system based on labour and profession, in contrast to the current party-centric system.
According to him, it would not be possible to achieve a fundamental transformation of power while maintaining or merely patching up the current system.
ASM Abdur Rab said: "The participation of social forces in determining policy in production and distribution of power, along with involvement in the country’s political culture and all fields of art and literature, will create an unprecedented awakening.”
He added: “Such an awakening will, on one hand, protect independence and sovereignty from internal and external malicious forces and conspiracies, while on the other hand, it will foster effective national unity."
He further added: "The liberation of the people is not possible without a political arrangement based on their participation."
