Nasir Uddin Nasir, the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) student unit, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has criticized the Islami Chhatra Shibir's council meeting, calling it staged and theatrical.
Nasir made these remarks while responding to questions from journalists after paying homage to the grave of the founder of BNP and former President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the founding of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal on Wednesday.
Nasir Uddin Nasir said: "Shibir does not want to engage in politics publicly. They work secretly. The council they held yesterday was a staged and theatrical event. The leadership positions were pre-determined."
He further said: "For the last 15 years, fascism prevailed. But now it's gone. Still, they continue secret politics. This organization (Shibir) has deceived the public and ordinary students by holding a theatrical council."
It is worth mentioning that, after almost 14 years, a public central council of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir was held on Tuesday.
