The 14-member full committee of the Jagannath University unit of Chhatra Shibir was announced on Friday night through an official Facebook post by the organization.
Md Iqbal Hossain Shikdar, a 2015-16 academic year Mathematics student, will serve as the president, while Md Asadul Islam, a 2016-17 History student, will act as the secretary.
Other notable posts include Office Secretary Md Riazul Islam (2018-19 session), Science, Research, and International Secretary Nazmul Haque (Statistics, 2017-18 session), Publicity and Cultural Secretary Ibrahim Ali (Political Science, 2018-19 session), and Finance Secretary Md Shaon Sardar (Finance, 2018-19 session).
The roles of Dawah Secretary, Literature and Publication Secretary, Scbhool, Debate and IT Secretary, and others were filled by Md Ariful Islam (Islamic Studies, 2018-19), Main Uddin (History of Islam, 2018-19), Nahid Hasan Russell (Social Work, 2018-19), among others.
Positions in social service, student welfare, housing, library, and student movements were also designated to members.
University unit Chhatra Shibir President Md Iqbal Hossain Shikdar clarified that the committee, though delayed in announcement, was formed through a member vote in January.
He explained that due to a challenging campus environment, the committee was not announced earlier to ensure safe organizational activities.
The Jagannath University unit responded to recent reports in a national daily, revealing the names of the president, secretary, and publicity secretary in their official statement on October 11.
