Awami League's Office Secretary Biplab Barua on Sunday morning said no Awami League programs have been withdrawn.
Regarding a viral press release claiming the Awami League withdrew its programs due to security concerns, he said: "No such press release has been issued; the one circulating on social media is fake."
On Saturday, General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced a new two-day program across Bangladesh.
The program includes gatherings in every ward of the capital and in districts and metropolitan areas on Sunday, and a mourning procession on Monday afternoon from 3pm, starting in front of the Engineers' Institution to the Bangabandhu Bhaban, in memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, those killed on August 15, and recent violence victims.
