Around 2,500 activists of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) and independent candidates have joined the Awami League to help its candidate win in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat.
They attended an election campaign of Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed at the GS Government School ground in the upazila around 5pm on Tuesday.
They were the activists of Johurul Alam, the candidate of JaPa, and Sirajul Haque, an independent candidate, in Lalmonirhat-2.
Along with the minister, many other leaders and activists of the Awami League were present there.
Around 20,000 people attended the gathering.
The minister urged the leaders and activists to strengthen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s hand by making her win on January 7.
