Popular folk Singer Doly Shaontoni on Monday bought a nomination form from the Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) to participate in the 12th national polls, scheduled for January 7.
She collected the form for the Pabna-2 constituency.
Doly Shaontoni has garnered recognition for her contributions to contemporary Bangla songs and traditional folk music.
Recently, the BNM started the sale of nomination forms at the new office of the party in Gulshan.
The nomination fee has been fixed at Tk6,000.
Initially, Tk1,000 must be paid at the time of purchasing the nomination form and rest money has to be submitted with the nomination paper.
