Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury cast his vote at the Baridhara Scholars International School and College polling center located in DOHS Baridhara in the capital.
He arrived at the polling center around 10am on Thursday and exercised his voting rights.
Speaking to journalists after voting, the adviser emphasized the crucial role of the media in ensuring a free, fair, and credible election. He said objective and truthful reporting by local media outlets has helped counter propaganda and misinformation from Indian media.
He expressed hope that the media would continue to uphold accuracy and impartiality throughout the election process to prevent the spread of rumors and propaganda.
The home affairs adviser said that apart from one or two minor isolated incidents, voting had been taking place in a peaceful, orderly, and festive atmosphere. He voiced confidence that the election would be completed in a free, neutral, and credible manner
After casting his vote, he visited the central coordination cell on law and order at the Ministry of Home Affairs and later the operation control room at Police Headquarters.
