A private car was set on fire by miscreants in Atghoria area of Bagha upazila on Sunday amid BNP-Jamaat’s countrywide hartal.
Though no casualty was reported, the car was fully gutted in the fire.
Rafiqul Alam, additional superintendent of Rajshahi Police, confirmed the matter.
He said that a member of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) along with his family members was in the private car.
When the car reached the area in Monigram union, hartal supporters obstructed the car.
At one stage, they set the car on fire and fled the scene.
On information, a team of fire service rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
The process of taking legal action is underway, said the police official.
Meanwhile, several buses were gutted across the country including Dhaka on Sunday.
