The Awami League has called a peace rally across Bangladesh in response to BNP's hartal.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said: We will be in the field. Sheikh Hasina's activists were always in the field, and they will be there tomorrow as well.”
The veteran leader made the statement while addressing the peace and development rally in Dhaka’s Baitul Mukarram area on Saturday.
“We want peace. We always want peace before and after elections,” he said.
Quader alleged BNP men carried out attacks in front of the house of the chief justice and raised their hands on police members.
He said: “Today, they ran away from their rally. But we will be more careful next time.”
