Leaders and activists of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League are gathering at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram on Saturday.
They are bringing processions from various places to the gathering place and surrounding areas.
According to the instructions, the leaders and activists of the city Awami League, Jubo League, Swechasebak League, Sramik League and Chhatra League are preparing to face any situation in the rally.
Leaders of various police stations, wards and units are bringing banners, placards and flags.
Besides Dhaka metropolis, a large number of leaders and activists from five surrounding districts are joining the rally. They started coming in groups since morning. They said that they will be on alert in Dhaka till the evening.
Awami League rally began with cultural program at 11am. The main event will start at 2:30pm.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the largest peace rally in memory will be held on this day.
Leaders of Awami League said that it is planned to gather several hundreds of thousands of people. Accordingly, all preparations have been completed.
