Awami League's nominated candidate for Dhaka-17 constituency, Professor Mohammad A Arafat on Sunday said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat alliance is conspiring against Awami League (AL) by not participating in the election.
“Awami League has always been targeted with conspiracies but nobody could rally the public against Awami League. BNP-Jamaat is planning a conspiracy by not participating in the elections, demotivating the general voters to cast their votes,” he said while addressing the general public during an election rally in the Korail Adarshanagar area of the capital.
Dhaka Tribune“We have to ensure the victory of our boat symbol by confronting all these conspiracies in the upcoming by-election on July 17," he stated.
Professor Arafat pledged, if victorious in the upcoming by-election, to work towards ensuring all civic amenities in his constituency.
Highlighting problems in the Korail Adarshanagar area including issues with gas, water and roads, the Awami League's nominated candidate said: "Working in coordination with you, we will solve these problems step by step."
Professor Arafat stressed the importance of working towards securing citizens' amenities.
"Whatever we do, we need to work for ensuring civic facilities," he said.
