A new political party named Humanity Revolution, Bangladesh on Sunday received its registration certificate with the Election Commission (EC).
Secretary General of the party Sheikh Rahan Afzal Rahbar received the registration certificate from Secretary of Election Commission Jahangir Alam. Founder Chairman Imam Hayat, Organizing Secretary Sheikh Abu Hanif and presidium members Abu Abrar Chisty, Ahmad Shah Morshed, Prof. Marufuddin, Adv. Mainuddin Titu and Abdul Awal were also present.
The EC registered the party following a High Court order and published the gazette on May 8.
The electoral symbol of this party is Apple while the central office of the party is located at Gulshan in Dhaka.
A party has to be registered with the EC to participate in the elections with the party symbol. With this new party , the number of parties registered in EC now stands at 42.
Earlier, the EC registered the Trinamool BNP last February on the order of the High Court. These parties approached the High Court after not getting registration by applying to the Election Commission.
