Nurul Haque Nur's Gono Odhikar Parishad, one of the factions of the seven-party alliance Gonotontro Mancha, has decided not to hold any programs under the banner of the alliance.
He told this to the media on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, the monthly meeting of the central executive council of the party was held at its central office.
The party decided not to limit itself to only programs organized by the alliance at the meeting. The party decided to remain active on the streets and participate in the ongoing simultaneous anti-government movement.
At the meeting, the party leaders expressed concern over the increase of edible oil prices and condemned the move. It also announced a protest program to be held in front of the party office in Dhaka on May 12.
Earlier on January 16, Gono Odhikar Parishad decided against joining a protest program that was arranged by the alliance with solidarity for BNP's countrywide demonstration.
