Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Monday urged all to build a united resistance against BNP and its ally anti-liberation force Jamaat as they are trying to raise their head again to thwart the country's development and democracy.
"BNP-Jamaat is trying to create anarchy at a time when Bangladesh is crossing the milestone of development and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has started working to build a developed and smart Bangladesh by 2041," he said while speaking at a Jubo League rally in Dhaka.
Dhaka north city Jubo League's acting President Zakir Hossain presided over the rally while Jubo League central general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan, Dhaka north Jubo League general secretary Ismail Hossain, Jubo League leaders Nabi Newaz, Selim Altaf, Anwar Hossain, Shamsul Alam and Mostafizur Rahman, among others, spoke at the rally.
Mahbubul Alam Hanif said those who want to throw away constitution of 1972 and termed Bangladesh's birth as by chance will have to face punishment.
Anti-liberation force does not want to accept the constitution as they do not believe in independence, he said, adding that constitution of 1972 is not only a valuable but also a historical document.
He urged BNP leaders to withdraw their remarks about the constitution.
