The 30th National Council of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of the ruling Awami League, has begun at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 30th National Council of Chhatra League around 11:30pm on Tuesday.
Chhatra League leaders and activists of different units were seen gathering at the venue since morning. They were also carrying banners, festoons, posters, and were seen waving party flags.
The council was initially scheduled to be held on December 3 but was later postponed on the instructions of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Meanwhile, the traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has decided to close some roads and provide road diversion in the area around Suhrawardy Udyan.
According to the notification, commuters have been requested to avoid traffic movement at Kataban Crossing, Hotel Intercontinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Kakrail Church Crossing, UBL Crossing, High Court Crossing, Doel Chotwor Crossing, DU Medical Center, Jagannath Hall Crossing, DU Vaskorjo crossing, Vice Chancellor Building as these roads will be closed on the occasion of Chhatra League's conference.
Commuters of the city have been requested to use alternative roads in the vicinity of Suhrawardy Udyan.
