The opposition BNP is all set to hold the mass rally in Comilla on Saturday.
Thousands of BNP leaders and activists from all over Bangladesh have already reached Comilla, inspiring a great deal of enthusiasm.
They are mostly staying with their families, in hotels, or places arranged by the district unit BNP and expelled leader Monirul Haque Sakku.
Sakku has offered the BNP men to stay at 78 of his apartments, while also offering to slaughter 10 cows for the food of at least 25,000 leaders and activists he is expecting.
The city wore a festive look with posters, banners and colourful processions on Friday.
According to BNP sources, the stage is already set. Like every other rallies that took place in other divisions, a chair is made and reserved for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Another special chair is also set for the party's Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Meanwhile, the central and district leaders of the party held a press conference on the overall preparations for the rally.
They said they were all set for Saturday's mass rally, while adding that the people of Bangladesh are eager to get rid of the misrule of the Awami League government.
The government will be shown a red card from Comilla's rally, they mentioned.
The press conference was held at a restaurant in Comilla city on Friday.
The member of BNP's standing committee Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Relief and Rehabilitation Secretary Haji Aminur Rashid Yasin, Organizing Secretary Mostak Miah, and others.
They also alleged that BNP activists have been attacked in Brahmanbaria and Comilla's Laksam and Manoharganj upazilas.
In this rehard, Mosharraf said they will hold their program in a peaceful manner without responding to any provocative acts by the ruling party.
The rally in Comilla will be the eighth one by the BNP, after arranging mass gatherings in Chittagong, Mymensingh, Khulna, Rangpur, Barisal, Faridpur and Sylhet.
Party leaders hope to conclude the divisional rallies through a mass gathering in Dhaka city on December 10.
