Update : 14 Jun 2022, 04:20 PM

A dissolved BCL committee’s general secretary, who went live on Facebook during an exam, was shown expelled in the results published on Monday.

According to sources, 15 students from Prism Computer Academy participated in the July-December session for Bangladesh Technical Education Board's computer office application course.

The results signed by Controller of Examination Md Abdur Rahman showed that among them, Monir was expelled, and all 14 others failed the examination.

On April 8, Monir started the live video on Friday during an exam held at Jhenaidah Polytechnic Institute.

He also made some remarks and showed his classmates as well as the teachers, who took no step to refrain him.

The live video, which lasted 9 minutes and 38 seconds, Sumon was heard saying: “We are Chhatra League [members]... Taking the exam while fasting, we will [still] get golden A+. We have put ‘MP Anar Group’ (local lawmaker Md Anwarul Azim Anar) as our group in the exam script. We will vandalize the board if we are not given A+.”

He said that he had been harbouring the wish to go live on Facebook during exams for some time.

“I also see madam (female invigilator) recording me… the sirs are asleep,” he added.

Sumon was also heard asking an invigilator if she would say anything in the live video. Soon after, Sumon removed the video from Facebook in the face of criticism.

He later told journalists that he had actually started the live while waiting to give an oral examination, not during any written exam.

The Chhatra League committee of Kaliganj Upazila was later dissolved as its top leaders drew severe criticism on the matter.
