Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram resumed normal operations on Sunday afternoon after a widespread outage disrupted services for nearly 2 hours in Bangladesh and several other countries.
The platforms became fully operational shortly after 3:40pm after users reported problems accessing the web versions of Facebook and Messenger, viewing news feeds, and sending messages.
Outage-tracking website DownDetector recorded a sharp spike in reports shortly before 2pm. Meta had not issued a statement on the cause of the disruption at the time of publication.
