BNP Vice-Chairman and former minister Barrister Aminul Haque has died at United Hospital in Dhaka.
The 76-year-old breathed his last on at 10:30am on Sunday.
Aminul had been suffering from liver cancer and was put on life support at United Hospital's ICU on March 14, BNP chairperson's media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan said as reported by UNB.
He leaves behind a wife, daughter, son, and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Earlier, Aminul had been undergoing treatment for liver cancer at a Singapore hospital. He was brought to Dhaka by an air ambulance and admitted to United Hospital on March 14.
Aminul Haque, a former member of parliament from the Rajshahi 1 constituency for three consecutive times from 1991, was the posts and telecommunications minister of the BNP-led four-party alliance government during its 2001-2006 regime.
