Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday announced that they will hold a public rally on February 8 at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
The rally will begin at 2pm to demand the immediate release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and other arrested party leaders and activists.
“This parliament does not represent the people’s mandate. They have taken away the people’s right to vote and there is no democracy any more” said Rizvi.
He also announced an hour-long human chain program on Wednesday in front of the Jatiya Press Club, to protest the first session of the 11th parliament.
Rizvi made the announcements at a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters.
