Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader on Wednesday said there is no division within their party as their leaders and activists are united under the leadership of the party Chairman HM Ershad.
"Jatiya Party is still being run at the directives of our chairman HM Ershad. Our party is now united, and stronger," he said.
GM Quader came up with the remarks while speaking at a press briefing at the Jatiya Party Chairman's Banani office, reports UNB.
He stated that their party will play the due role of the opposition to make parliament functional and a vibrant one and said: "No other parties, except Jatiya Party, are now in a position to play an effective role of the opposition."
GM Quader, also the deputy leader of the opposition in parliament, also said four women will be elected as MPs from Jatiya Party to the reserved seats for women in the 11th parliament, which has been finalized by the party chairman.
The 50 seats of parliament reserved for women are distributed among parties based on the number of their representatives in Parliament.
Jatiya Party had secured 22 seats and will act as the main opposition in parliament.
