Around 23,500,000 young voters are set to cast their ballots in the next general election. How do you plan to attract these voters?
Young people have many expectations. It is a matter of great hope for us that around 23.5 million young Bangladeshis registered as new voters to cast their ballots in the upcoming election.
I firmly believe that the young people are more patriotic than ever. They uphold the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War. They are eager to know the history of Bangladesh with great interest.
They also express their love and affection for their homeland boldly. When we were young, it was rare for us to find such a show of devotion among the young generation.
They feel proud when Bangladesh achieves something, and as this generation expresses their pride, it inspires us do more good work.
It is a positive sign for Bangladesh. The inclusion of this large number of young people in the voter list is a strong point for us.We see many young lawmakers in parliament. Do you think these young leaders can bring about a positive change in our political arena?
Following the 2008 election, many young leaders became Members of Parliament.
In their tenure as lawmakers, they are all doing very well. They are committed and dedicated to their country and people.
I believe that other MPs will be encouraged to do better after witnessing the dedication shown by these young lawmakers.
In the coming days, more young leaders will become lawmakers, and they will make significant contributions in changing the country from underdeveloped to a developed one. What kind of people should get involved in politics?
The most important thing in politics is a person’s responsibility to their country and people.
Those who have passion to work for the betterment of the people and the country, who are devoted to the country, who do not think of politics as a business to make money, should get involved in politics.
If a young leader lacks such passion, then the person should not get involved in politics. But if they decide to join politics anyway, they would certainly ruin the political environment.
I welcome all young leaders’ involvement with the policy stated above. There is a widely known opinion that young people dislike politics. Can you give us your opinion on the matter?
In Bangladesh, people of all ages are very much interested in politics. In western countries, young people try to avoid politics due to their lifestyle, but the notion that Bangladesh’s young generation is avoiding politics or dislike it, is not true.
They just want politics to be fair and transparent.
The young generation might dislike a few politicians or their activities that are not good for the country. But in general, the engagement of young people in politics is increasing compared to previous years. The teenagers of today are very much politically conscious.
They are informed about each and every pressing issue, and they love to engage themselves in political discussions.
Students from colleges and universities across the country are very much conscious about politics and they are a very strong force for the country.
We should try to involve this force in the political arena, and in the country’s development activities for building a prosperous country.
The young generation also needs to learn the true history of the 1971 Liberation War for making them interested in politics.
We also need governance and transparency to set a positive example for them.Awami League claims that it should be in power for a third consecutive term to continue the country’s development activities. What is your opinion?
Bangladesh recently became a developing country, from being a least developed one, and in future the process of development will speed up.
People will continue to receive benefits if Awami League forms government after the upcoming polls.
The whole world is currently interested to work with Bangladesh and to invest in the country. They know that Bangladesh has the ability to ensure a stable and smooth environment for foreign investors.
There is no alternative to Awami League for building a developed Bangladesh. To continue the development, people should vote for the boat symbol again.
If we can ensure transparency, Bangladesh will become a role model for the world in the near future.‘Sonar Bangla’ is a brand. Say something about the dream of the Father of the Nation.
In my opinion, Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla means a happy and prosperous Bangladesh that will be developed in all sectors.
Bangabandhu had not only instructed people to work for the country, but also be able to create a “Sonar Bangla”.
I think the Awami League government is on the right track to achieve Bangabandhu’s dream Sonar Bangla.
