BNP, Islami Andolan, JaPa announce nominees for KCC polls

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Islami Andolan Bangladesh, and Jatiya Party have announced their nominees for the upcoming KCC mayoral elections as well as councillors for 31 general and 10 reserved wards. The full lists of candidates were disclosed by their respective parties on Wednesday night after a lengthy assessment. The mayoral candidate for Islami Andolan is its Khulna metropolitan unit president Maulana Muzammil Haque, and it also nominated councillors for all 31 wards. JaPa nominated party stalwart SM Mushfiqur Rahman as their mayoral candidate along with 12 councillors for general and one councillor for a reserved ward. BNP’s nominated candidate is Khulna city BNP President Nazrul Islam Manju, and the party has also nominated 31 councillors for the general and 10 councillors for reserved wards. The nominations have come just over a month before the elections take place on May 15.
