When the Dhaka Tribune reached out to the secretary of Cabinet Division about the matter, he said: “It is still a confidential matter, how did you get this information?”
However, several reliable sources requesting anonymity confirmed that the search committee is likely to meet president on Monday after the final discussion between the members in the afternoon.
However, Jainal Abedin, press secretary to the president confirmed the meeting. He told the Dhaka Tribune: “The meeting will be held at 6:30pm at Bangabhaban.”
Sources have said that former bureaucrats are likely to be recommended to head the upcoming Election Commission.
