The news about misappropriation of funds by BNP Chiarperson Khaleda Zia and her two sons are now making the nation ashamed, Law Minister Anisul Huq said on Friday.
“It has now become embarrassing for us as a nation that the news of their [Khaleda and her two sons] misappropriation of funds are hitting the headlines in big newspapers of the world,” he said while speaking at a winter clothes distribution program at Durgapur Tanpara Primary School ground in Akhaura upazila, Brahmanbaria.
The minister further alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was preoccupied with amassing her own fortune during her premiership.
Anisul also reiterated the government's firm stand to hold the next general polls by the end of 2018, and that so under the Election Commission and during the term of the current government.
