Workers Party, a part of the 14-party alliance, is going to hold a rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on March 3 to push forward its 21-point demand. Party President Rashed Khan Menon made the announcement in a press conference at the National Press Club conference lounge on Thursday. He said: "As this is the election year, all parties of the 14-party alliance should start planning for it from now on. Last moment efforts will not be enough. It is imperative to preserve the growth and development through proper state governance. Bangladesh has earned the respect of the whole word because of its growth and development. But some errors and mishaps have managed to smear the achievements.” He added: "To continue this development on due course, we feel the need to hold a rally to press forward our 21-point demand at the Suhrawardy Udyan on March 3." The 21-point demand includes issues like food security and price of commodities, employment, poverty alleviation, agriculture and reforming land laws, industrial workers, electricity production management and renewable energy, road, rail and air and naval and other communications management. General secretary of the party Comrade Fazle Badshah along with other party leaders were present at the press conference. This article was first published on Bangla Tribune
