Quader: Something goes wrong whenever Khaleda appears before court

Update : 26 Dec 2017, 09:17 PM
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said something must happen whenever BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia goes to appear before court in graft cases filed against her. He made the remark when addressing a programme at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka on Tuesday, organized by the Awami League Social Welfare and Relief sub-committee to distribute blankets among cold-hit distressed people. “BNP men occupy the streets when Khaleda Zia goes to appear before court. They provoke law enforcers and hurl brickbats at them. Will the law enforcers keep mum if the BNP men attack them?” he said, adding that police would take all necessary measures to preserve law and order. Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges minister, said: “In the past, we saw her lawyers get into brawls with one another on court premises. I am ashamed of talking about this.” Awami League Joint General Secretary Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, Social Welfare and Relief Secretary Babu Sujit Roy Nandi, Executive Member Reazul Kabir Kawsar were also present at the programme. The article was first published on Bangla Tribune.
