The remarks of the BNP leadership have exposed and also proved earlier that it is an anti-Indian political party, remarked Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta yesterday.
Referring to a statement of BNP international affairs Secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon, Suranjit further said it could be easily realised from statements of the BNP leadership that they opposed India in the past, are opposing at present and would oppose in the future. However, BNP leader Asaduzzaman at a recent BNP press conference refuted all the claims by Suranjit.
Suranjit made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a discussion on current politics organised by Bangabandhu Academy at Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital.
The senior Awami League leader, also chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, said BNP have been following Pakistani philosophy since its inception.
“BNP has to go forward, confessing they have committed a mistake by opposing India, because they have no option left but to deceive people by saying they hadn’t opposed India,” added Suranjit.
The former rail minister said much enthusiasm, along with hopes and expectations, have arisen among the people over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bangladesh visit on June 6, the second premier of India to visit the country after Indira Gandhi.
