Ihsanul Karim, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's press secretary, passed away on Sunday, breathing his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital at around 8pm.
PM's Deputy Press Secretary MM Emrul Kayes confirmed the news.
The prime minister expressed profound shock and sorrow at the demise of her press secretary.
In a message of condolence, she prayed for peace for the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Ihsanul Karim was also a former press secretary to the president and managing director and chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
