Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday extended greetings and best wishes to Muslims in Bangladesh and around the world on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).

In a message issued ahead of the occasion, he said the arrival of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the Holy Prophet and Messenger of Allah, was a glorious event in human history.

He said the Prophet (PBUH) called people towards Tawhid and taught truth, justice, equality, brotherhood, humanity and peace, adding that his life and teachings remain an eternal guide for mankind.

Quoting the Holy Quran (Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 21), Tarique Rahman said: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow.”

The prime minister said the Prophet’s life embodied truthfulness, justice, forgiveness, tolerance, kindness and altruism, while upholding the dignity and rights of all people regardless of race, color, tribe, language or social status.

He said the Prophet’s teachings on peace, justice, compassion and humanity remain highly relevant as the world faces war, conflict, violence, discrimination, intolerance and moral degradation.

Tarique Rahman said following the Prophet’s life and philosophy could help build a peaceful and welfare-oriented society based on justice, responsibility and human values.

Referring to the young generation as the country’s future, he said the Prophet’s ideals could inspire young people to stay away from drugs, terrorism, extremism and crime and remain steadfast on the path of truth and justice.

The prime minister prayed to Almighty Allah to grant all the ability to follow the life and Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and to establish peace, justice, equality, prosperity and humanity in Bangladesh and across the world.
