Cabinet endorses proposed national budget for FY2019-20

This is Bangladesh's 48th national budget since its independence in 1971

The Cabinet, at a special meeting,has approved the proposed national budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held in the Cabinet Room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, plus other cabinet ministers and state ministers concerned, attended the meeting, reports UNB.

The finance minister is set to unveil the proposed national budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year—aiming to bring a number of reforms in the present economy—on Thursday afternoon.

AHM Mustafa Kamal is scheduled to start presentinghis first budget at the JatiyaSangsad at 3pm.

This budget will be the first of the ruling Awami League government formed through the December 30, 2018 general election.

This isBangladesh's 48th national and Awami League Government's 20th budget since the country's independence in 1971.
