Ziaul Hasan Molla, 37, son of Hasem Molla, was the president of Jubo League at Salnagar union parishad’s word no 7.
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara police station Jahangir Alam said there had been a long-standing dispute between Sikder and Molla families over establishing supremacy in the locality.
Supporters of Saifur Sikder allegedly stabbed him indiscriminately on his way to home around 9pm, leaving him critically injured.
Hearing his hue and cry, neighbouring people rescued him and took him to Lohagora upzila health complex.
Later, he was shifted to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A case was filed. However, no one was arrested in this regard, as accused went into hiding soon after the incident.
